Today is my first rehearsal for this new Christmas musical! I'm pretty stoked since I get to originate a part again, (last time it was as Mahtigwess for the world premiere of "Rough-Face Girl." Also, today's rehearsal is for choreography, and girl, I don't dance much anymore so it should be super fun!

Hallelujah! I'm officially off-book for my French lines after two runs and speed through tonight. C'est magnifique! If you're in Seattle the performance info is all on Facebook, under Le Theatre Francaise. We are performing in English and French, so don't worry. And it's going to be hysterical!!!
Last night's audition for an original holiday musical went super well. So I believe I have a holiday show which is very exciting :) Details will follow...
Well, this week started off with a pretty sweet audition full of positive feedback for Lyric Opera Northwest on Sunday, which is doing Carmen. Then, last night I went to the Northwest Playwrights' Alliance live reading of a new local work at Seattle Repertory Theater. It was fabulous! Tonight I have an audition for a new holiday musical, and tomorrow is my audition for Northwest Opera in Schools which I am very excited about. They're doing the shaving scene from Barber of Seville which would be super fun. So yeah, busy theatrical week, which is the perfect kind of week ;)
Hello world! Here's a quick performance update for my blog's maiden voyage.
I'm currently in rehearsal for the Moliere play "Les Preciueses Ridicules," which is being put on by the new company Le Theatre Francais de Seattle. We are performing the piece in both English and French (mon dieu!) at the Eastside Preparatory School in Kirkland. I play men in both versions (sacre bleu!); Mr. La Grange in the French, and Mr. Du Croisy in the English. I also recently had the immense pleasure of acting in the Doubleshot Theater Festival down in Tacoma, which was a whirlwind of creativity and fun. The playwrights had 12 hours to write a 10 minute play about one of the seven deadly sins, and then we actors had 12 hours to meet, read, memorize, and perform said piece. It was exilherating! And a great introduction for me to Seattle theater. In addition, I'm hoping to also sing again with Opera On Tap here later on in October. I'll keep you posted! |
